Lesko Takes Lie Detector Test

New York Times Best Selling Author, Matthew Lesko, passed a lie detector test to prove that the New York Consumer Protection Board was “flat out wrong” in their report that claims he is lying about free government money programs. The test was conducted by one of the country’s most respected lie detector experts and was broadcasted on PAX TV’s Lie Detector Show (see www.lesko.com/liedetector)

Let America Know The Truth
Lesko challenges the New York Consumer Protection Board to take a lie detector test to show America that it’s their knowledge of government money programs that is wrong. Although the Consumer Protection Board has ZERO unresolved consumer complaints regarding the millions of books that Lesko has sold, their false claims about Lesko and free government money are actually hurting consumers by discouraging them from taking advantage of the free money programs they are entitled to.

There is More Free Money Then Ever Before
The Board is telling consumers that there is very little free money available to consumers based on a call to the U.S. Office of Management And Budget that told them that most grant money, about $250 Billion dollars, goes to state and local governments and non-profit organizations. What the Board did not know is that 80% of the government’s free money programs, about $ 1 Trillion dollars, are not called “grants” but are called “direct payments” and all this money goes directly to consumers. If they call back and ask the right question, they will get the right answer and see that they are wrong. (1)

Only 12% Of Government Money Goes To Poor
The Board claims that the programs Lesko talks about are basically welfare programs and do not apply to the average person. When, in fact, studies shows that only 12% of government money goes to the low income people and 75% of all government money programs have no income requirements at all (2). Using the term “welfare” also discourages eligible people from taking advantage of needed help, because by government standards a low-income family of 4 making up to $38,000 can take advantage of what they are calling “welfare” programs.

And if it’s only for the poor, why do government data show that:

  • Seniors making over $150,000 are getting more free government money than seniors making $15,000, (3) and
  • Families making over $100,000 are getting more government money for college than families making less than $100,000 (4)

49 Million Don’t Know They’re Eligible For Free Money
The Board makes an unsubstantiated claim that most people know what programs they are eligible for or that it is easy to find out from existing government sources. This flies in the face of documented government studies that show up to 34% of the people who call to inquire about programs they are eligible for get the wrong information (5) and government data show that over 50 million consumers can call the government today and get free money and help if they only knew they are eligible, including:

  • 6 million families don’t know they qualify for free health insurance for their children (6)
  • 10 million families don’t know they can get up to $4,000 to pay food bills (7)
  • 800,000 college students don’t know they can get grants of up to $4,050 (8)
  • Single mothers don’t know they tap into $673 million in unclaimed child support payments (9)
  • 29 million seniors citizens don’t know that they are eligible for free medical procedures like colonoscopies, bone mass measurements, prostate exams and glaucoma tests through Medicare (10)

Free Money Programs For EVERYBODY
