If you use a web search engine like Google and put in the word “Façade Grant” you will find over 300,000 sources of grant money for a business. These are grants given out by local communities to improve the looks of a business which can be useful money to help start or expand your business.

Not Your Town? Don’t worry, because your town may also have a program but it may not be listed in the search engine. Contact the mayor, or the top official, in your town, city or county and see if they have a similar program. Look in the blue pages of your telephone book. These are the government pages. Or go to www.govengine.com.

Remember that you should also check into every town around you. Who cares if you have to drive a few extra miles to your business, especially if they are going to give you an extra $50,000 to get started? They may even give you the money if you move your business to their city. It may be worth it. You don’t even have to live in the city offering the money. You just have to have your business there.
