Interview Highlights
A consulting and training company that works with companies that have a mentoring program or want one within their organization.
Mentoring relationships are powerful and effective.
She is a people skills teacher.
They are usually looking at a generational transfer of skills.
This is happening because downsizing has taken out the career ladder.
She used to be a professional fundraiser and worked as a mentor with at-risk kids.
She went back to school in 2005 after 30 years.
Got a bachelor's degree in Communications.
A year later she got a masters in Management and Organizational Leadership.

She did this all while working full-time.
She got laid off and was admitted to a program that helped her start a business while she was on unemployment.
She was thinking of starting this business when she would retire.
They said her business plan was best they ever saw.
She could collect unemployment for 26 weeks while starting her business instead of looking for a job.
She also got her health insurance fully paid for 6 months and then they paid 2/3rds of the cost for the next 9 months.
She loves what she is doing and her clients love what she is doing.
She is giving people a hand up.
A mentor helps you practice your skill in a safe place.
One out every three employees are going to change jobs once the recession is over.
If you are a leader and you are not mentoring someone you are not really leading.
