Library Dissolution Measure Defeated!
The proposal to dissolve the Stevens County Library district was defeated on election day by a vote of 5,282-to-2,822. ``We are absolutely thrilled to death,'' library trustee Janet Olson said. ``What I am hoping is that the libraries will become such a jewel to all the communities that it will become a ridiculous idea to dissolve anything that means education or opportunities for people.''
