Question of Libraries
Text from an article in the Spokane, Washington "Spokesman-Review"

District from closing.
Library
Dissolution Measure Defeated!
The proposal to dissolve the Stevens County Library district
was defeated on election day by a vote of 5,282-to-2,822. ``We are absolutely
thrilled to death,'' library trustee Janet Olson said. ``What I am hoping
is that the libraries will become such a jewel to all the communities
that it will become a ridiculous idea to dissolve anything that means
education or opportunities for people.''
